The Auburn Hills glass manufacturer Guardian Industries has introduced two new solar glass products.
First is EcoGuard Float Glass, a new low-iron float glass designed to maximize solar energy transmission in a variety of applications.
Guardian’s EcoGuard Float Glass is used in concentrating solar power mirrors, photovoltaic energy systems, concentrating photovoltaic systems and solar thermal applicaitons. It offers optimal energy and light transmission, is easy to process and is available in a variety of glass thicknesses, 0.95 mm to 12 mm.
EcoGuard Float glass also is available in several transmission ranges to meet the needs of a variety of applications and to be the most cost-effective solution. Guardian is a single source for a variety of edge treatments and the glass is available annealed, heat strengthened, tempered and laminated.
Also introduced was EcoGuard Pattern Glass, a new low-iron pattern glass designed to maximize solar energy transmission and enhance photovoltaic module performance. EcoGuard Pattern glass can be used in a variety of applications, including photovoltaic energy systems, solar thermal collectors, greenhouses and other applications requiring high solar transmission and light control.
Guardian’s EcoGuard Pattern glass offers distinct advantages in manufacturing and performance due to the product’s pattern uniformity and solar transmission consistency. The glass also is IEC validated and tested and certified by the SPF Solartechnic Institute. Guardian is currently producing matte/matte and matte/prismatic pattern glasses. Guardian is conducting research to further increase solar transmission by optimizing the textured pattern. Look for new solar pattern glasses in the near future from Guardian.
